Aneros Progasm Review: A True Male G-spot Stimulator?

Long ago, when I made my first foray into prostate play, I settled on the Aneros Progasm as my first toy.

Had I done a bit more research I might have gone with something a bit smaller, but I suppose jumping into the deep end has its benefits. It was sink or swim, and luckily this toy Michael Phelps’d the hell out of my ass.

I’ve been using the Aneros Progasm prostate massager for a few years now, even after trying some of the other models (if you’re new to Aneros and curious about how they work or what kind of other models are out there, check out our Aneros Guide).

I always seem to come back to this one for the lovely sensation of fullness that a larger anal toy can bring.

Aneros massagers generally don’t have bells or whistles, and only one model actually has vibrating parts, so manipulation is up to the user. The way they work is by using your body’s natural and involuntary contractions to move around inside you once inserted, with a “hands-off” experience for the user.

There is a bit of a learning curve associated with this, but luckily there are a lot of helpful resources out there such as the Aneros wiki to help those just getting started.

I was certainly skeptical of the hands-free thing when my Progasm first arrived, but holy shit was I surprised when after some deep-breathing exercises I started to feel it stroking back and forth across my prostate.

Now, I’m officially a fan, and there’s a good reason why the Progasm has stayed at the fore of my toybox for years.

The Aneros Progasm

Normally, I’d do a bit of a thing about “first impressions”, but since I’ve had this bad boy for years that would be pretty disingenuous. Instead, I’ll just walk you through the specs.

Product Specs

  • Tip Width: 1.25 inches
  • Mid-Ridge Width: 1.30 inches
  • Stem to Perineum Distance: 1.52 inches
  • Insertable Length: 4.50 inches

The Progasm is actually the largest model offered by Aneros as far as insertable length goes, and it’s definitely best suited for those looking for a more “hard and deep” experience. It’s got two tabs, one that sticks forward and massages your perineum while inserted and another that massages something called the “kundalini spot”.

The “K-spot” is an acupressure point underneath your tailbone that’s supposed to send additional pleasurable feelings up your spine.

To be honest, in my experience the K-spot tab hasn’t really done much for me. The perineum tab, on the other hand, feels great and really adds to the experience when I’m using my Progasm.

In Use

Like I said at the beginning when I first bought this toy my ass was virgin territory as far as prostate toys. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, and I definitely spent a lot of time and lube trying to get it inserted.

I’ve got no regrets, but if you’re looking for a first toy and haven’t dabbled in the past you should probably grab one of the smaller toy offerings to save yourself some discomfort.

Anyway, thanks to helpful online instructions I was able to quickly get my prostate pleasure journey underway. With the Progasm inserted, I laid back, relaxed, and watched a bit of porn to get in the mood.

I tried some of the deep breathing exercises combined with a bit of sphincter-clenching to get the ball rolling, and once it did it just kept going.

The feeling is very subtle at first, you have to close your eyes and mentally focus to even know anything is happening down there. The feelings start out almost as a kind of tickling, and as you focus on the feelings more the intensity gradually starts to ramp up. This is all over a period of 10-30 minutes, so it was hard to even notice the intensity ramping up until suddenly I realized it felt REALLY GOOD.

I did not expect it, but I found myself hard and leaking precum like crazy without having touched my dick once!

Now, I didn’t orgasm solely from the stimulation it provided, but I will say when I finally gave in and rubbed one out it felt incredible. I saw stars. I think I hit the wall behind my bed.

Since the first time, I’ve gotten better at using it and I’ve found that the pleasure comes on more quickly the more you use it. From what I’ve read online, that seems to be the general consensus as well.

Aneros toys are a bit of a time investment in that you have to train your body to use it and recognize the feelings, and the sessions for using them can take an hour or more. However, I will say that it is time damn well spent.

Another thing I’ve found: leave it in during sex. You’ll thank me later.

The only downside to this product is that there is a learning curve to using it, but with their extremely detailed and informative wiki Aneros users break down everything for you and answer any questions you could possibly have about it.

I’ve been using mine regularly for years now, and I don’t see myself getting tired of it anytime soon.
